Describe your business

I am an independent Online Business Manager, or ‘Right Hand Woman’ and I also have my own VA business called Blossom Executive Support. I run my clients’ businesses as if they were my own and take away the pressures of team coordination, project and operations management. My VA business supports small businesses and entrepreneurs that are my clients in social media, marketing and general administrative tasks.

What has been your greatest business achievement?

My greatest achievement so far has been winning the Mumpreneur 100 award, which recognises the top 100 female entrepreneurs in the UK that are running a business while raising a family.

What made you want to work for yourself?

I worked as a PA for 12 years but when I became pregnant with my son I made the choice to work for myself for the increased freedom it would bring. I also wanted to break from working in a global corporate company and do things my own way.

Why is self-employment so important?

Being self-employed provides the freedom for mums everywhere to work flexibly around their family, something which isn’t always available in full-time employment. I’ve had the chance to prove myself as a successful female entrepreneur and launch two great businesses.
