National Freelancers Day 2017 promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a packed schedule of industry experts providing invaluable advice and support through a series of comprehensive seminars, masterclasses and workshops.
Whatever your industry, passion or age, this year’s NFD has something for you. Following three strands – student, new to freelancing and experienced freelancers – the day will include a host of tailor-made sessions covering everything you need to know about launching and running a stimulating and successful freelance business.
One such session will be run by Mark Haines – London Region Director of Small Businesses at HSBC. After a successful career within retail banking and wealth managements, including roles leading HSBC’s premier and branch retail teams, Mark became the head of the London Business team earlier this year.
He leads a team of 90 customer-facing staff across the London branch network. Mark's responsibilities include policy and strategy for the national business banking leadership team and forges close links locally within the societies and communities in which his team operate.
Mark said: “I am very much looking forward to attending the event and I'm anticipating an electric atmosphere fuelled by many inspirational and motivating stories. To be invited to come along and absorb that is an absolute pleasure.
"I really want to emphasise how much we are open for business and doing our utmost to lend and support business growth.
“As HSBC London Regional Director for Small Business, my main remit will be to support and realise the aspirations of our SME customers. Our relationship with IPSE is strong and deepening and I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new business owners on the day.
“There are a number of good sessions on the day with experts from across the sector, indeed I am very much looking forward to attending other sessions myself. I hope those that do choose to come and see us, enjoy the session and leave feeling like it has been a worthwhile use of their time.”
HSBC are running two sessions at this year’s NFD. The first, from 14.30 - 15.15, concerning finances for independent professionals and the second on billing, banking and bookkeeping: learn how to handle your business finances, from 15.45 - 16.15.
