National Freelancers Day 2017 promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a packed schedule of industry experts providing invaluable advice and support through a series of comprehensive seminars, masterclasses and workshops.

Whatever your industry, passion or age, this year’s NFD has something for you. Following three strands – student, new to freelancing and experienced freelancers – the day will include a host of tailor-made sessions covering everything you need to know about launching and running a stimulating and successful freelance business.

One of our first sessions of the day will be with Griselda Togobo, the owner and director of Forward Ladies, a professional networking community with a clear mission: to advance women in business and tackle female under-representation in business leadership.

As a hugely successful female entrepreneur and one of Yorkshire’s 100 Leading Women, Griselda will be discussing how to use networking to get ahead in business.

Aimed at anyone who’s looking to build a strong and supportive professional network, the talk will give people the low-down on everything from how to create networks from scratch to using them to build up businesses. Griselda will also explain her biggest rule for developing relationships.

As Griselda says, “Most people just want to go to events, hand out cards and get business out of that – immediately. But it just doesn’t work that way. Don’t waste your time networking if you’re not prepared to invest in your relationships: that’s the only way to make long-term gains. So come and find out how you can build your network to support your ambitions.”

Starting at 2:30pm at Kings Place in London, it’s a talk that’s not to be missed – especially if you’re looking to build up your professional network. And as Griselda points out, “the best-networked people get the best jobs and opportunities.”
